Great Fence Paint I discovered a really great paint for horse fences. It is called "Fence Coat" I originally saw it on line some where in Kentucky then I discovered that our local feed store, King feed in Enumclaw Washington could order it in for me. It is only $39.99 for 5 gal pail. It is an acrylic lacquer and goes on in one coat. I got black and it is Super. So far I have done about 90 posts and have only used about 1/2 of the 5 gal bucket. Ask your local feed stores if you want to find some.

A Funny Joke An out-of-towner accidentally drove his car into a deep ditch on the side of a country road. Luckily a farmer happened by with his big old horse named Benny. The man asked for help. The farmer said Benny could pull his car out. So he backed Benny up and hitched Benny to the man's car bumper. Then he yelled, "Pull, Nellie, pull." Benny didn't move. Then he yelled, "Come on, pull Ranger." Still, Benny didn't move. Then he yelled really loud, "Now pull, Fred, pull hard." Benny just stood. Then the farmer nonchalantly said,"Okay, Benny, pull." Benny pulled the car out of the ditch. The man was very appreciative but curious. He asked the farmer why he called his horse by the wrong name three times. The farmer said, "Oh, Benny is blind, and if he thought he was the only one pulling he wouldn't even try." Sent in from my friend Susan, Thanks

Spring Grass Warning Hurray! Hurray! The grass is growing. Just a reminder if you have a good pasture coming; We suggest only letting the horses out on it for a couple hours at a time, maybe twice a day. This will prevent foundering from too much hot grass and also give your fields a good start on the new year. Grasses should not be grazed done below approx 3 inches to keep them healthy.
